Hot Stone Massage

Hot stone massage is where the therapist uses heated stones that are smooth and able to glide easily over the body.  The therapist places the stones on the body while massaging other parts of the body or use them as an extension of their hands to give a more deeper tissue massage. The heat can be both deeply relaxing and help warm up tight muscles so the therapist can work more quickly and deeply.

Hot Stone massage is not appropriate if you have diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease or are on medication that thins your blood. You should not get a hot stone massage if you are pregnant or have a sunburn. You also may want to reconsider if you are menopausal, as it may trigger a hot flush.

Benefits of Hot Stone Massage are:

  • Promotes deep muscle and tissue relaxation
  • Alleviates stress
  • Releases toxins
  • Relieves pain
  • Improves circulation
